Are you interested in supporting work to create inclusive and accessible communities for everyone? This One Day for UK, donate to the Human Development Institute! The UK Human Development Institute (HDI) is Kentucky’s University Center on Disability. Our mission is to promote the inclusion, independence, and contributions of people with disabilities and their families throughout their lifespan. HDI focuses on priority areas that include early childhood and education, employment, health, leadership and self-advocacy, universal design and assistive technology, all with a focus on research and evaluation. We support the use of best practices in lifelong learning by working with child care providers, families, professionals, and education systems. Our projects and partnerships aim to improve outcomes for competitive, integrated employment for everyone, including people with significant disabilities. HDI works with partners to promote a healthier and more productive Kentucky. We use universal design principles to improve access in physical, learning, and virtual environments and contribute to the body of knowledge related to disability through a variety of research and evaluation activities. As a part of the University of Kentucky academic community, we offer certificates in both universal design and developmental disabilities. The certificates prepare students from a broad range of disciplines to provide services and support to people with disabilities and their families. HDI seeks to nurture and grow the next generation of leaders with disabilities who will continue to elevate and sustain our work over time. Your donation will create change that leads to an inclusive world for all. Donate to HDI during One Day for UK 2022!
